Festival of Lights This will be our second Christmas in Prince Edward County, yet the first one we own completely. I am so excited. We have amazing friends out here and a wild wind that reminds us who is in charge of planet Earth. Mothers of Nature.
I have missed all of our simple rituals, I have missed you being right beside me for dull and not-so-dull moments. The big moment has come and I am so elated: it feels like a hard-won interlude for us both. I am so grateful, FP.
Here's to running and long walks in the elements and endless movies and all that we know together. Laughing. Scrambled eggs. Working the yard and preparing for next season. Hibernation and creation.
As the cafe closes this week-end, as I return to doing something that I used to do in my sleep, I thank you. May we have "Mexico" always and forever and then some. I can't wait to watch the parade with you Friday night. To have you beside me. Laughing ourselves awake, all that.
Patience is a virtue. The harder I work the luckier I get. All that stuff.
